Our Shiner holiday song, Homes for the Holiday, is a plea for people to find their own way to connect with and celebrate the winter holidays - in a deliberate and mindful way, rather than solely dutiful and rote.

The intention behind this release, other than to share our latest musical endeavour with you all, is to raise funds and awareness around the disturbingly pronounced housing crisis.

To that end, we are suggesting donations go to housing organizations like More Neighbours Toronto (MNTO) or the Canadian Centre for Housing Rights (CCHR) that advocate for the right to housing, that is, a right for everyone to have an adequate, accessible and affordable place to call home.

Lyrics

Stand beneath the mistletoe,
Easy come and easy go
And never mind
What’s left behind
Hidden in the snow

Light the candles
One by one
Up to eight
And then it’s done,
But still the winter's chill prevails
Shadowing the sun

Holiday
Price we pay
Please and play
To smooth the way
But
Can we stray
And find our way
Back home

Imagining a different path
Without the righteous, written wrath
But open to
What’s yet to come Away from judgment’s toil
So count the snowflakes
Feel the glow
Of easy come
And easy go
And let the faith
That led the way
Release it’s mortal coil

Holiday
Price we pay
Please and play
To smooth the way
But
Can we stray
And find our way
Back home

So stand beneath the mistletoe
Easy come and easy go
And never mind
What’s left behind
Hidden in the snow

Holiday
Price we pay
Please and play
To smooth the way
But
Can we stray
And find our way
Back home
And find our way
Back home
